I think the difference between us and citizens of the Capitol, in the books, is that we’re aware of how trivial and silly it all is.

Yes, we get excited about things like nail polish and shoes and stills from the movie. But we know that Lionsgate is playing on the irony of the situation and that’s what separates us from the mindless Capitol citizens.

And isn’t this the whole point that Suzanne is trying to make anyway? That the Capitol in the books isn’t far off from where we are now?
